Continent 8 Technologies was delighted to sponsor the July event for the Isle of Man division of the British Computer Society.
Entitled ‘Using Visibility and Intelligence to Secure your Network,’ the event was held on Wednesday 10th July at The Claremont Hotel, Douglas.
Continent 8 have developed a strong working relationship with Arbor Networks over a number of years and the speaker for the evening, Dr Andrew Bartholomew commented ‘Arbor Networks very much welcomed the invitation from Continent 8 to share our in depth knowledge on the ever increasing threats and challenges posed by DDoS attacks and malware with member of the Island’s business community. The positive response to the event highlighted growing awareness that these challenges are prevalent for all sectors. We are delighted to share our experiences and guidance. ’
The presentation covered the importance of combining network visibility with actionable intelligence. Visibility enables an understanding of the security baseline for the network and allows the setting of security policy, whereas actionable intelligence provides the means to identify and mitigate those threats that have turned into a reality.
Roberta Castle, Account Director for Continent 8 Technologies, “Continent 8 would like to thank the British Computer Society and its members for supporting this topical event, the lively question and answers session provided those in attendance the opportunity to ask in-depth questions of a global security expert.
